Our top priority since 2001 — protecting our team and yours on every job.
Since 2001, the safety and health of our employees have been our top priority.
At A-STAR, safety is not just a program — it is our core culture. It starts at the top with leadership that leads by example and empowers every crew member to speak up about unsafe conditions without fear. We foster an environment where safety is everyone’s responsibility, not just a checklist.
Our approach combines rigorous training with real accountability. We conduct thorough job hazard analyses before every project, maintain strict equipment inspection protocols, and celebrate safety milestones as team achievements. This proactive mindset has helped us build one of the strongest safety records in Northeast Ohio commercial roofing and siding.
Our team receives comprehensive, hands-on OSHA-based training covering fall protection, hazard identification, scaffold safety, electrical hazards, and emergency response procedures. New hires go through intensive onboarding while all crew members complete regular refresher courses.
Every week, our crews gather for focused Toolbox Talks covering real job-site hazards, lessons learned from recent projects, and practical safety reminders. These short, crew-led discussions keep safety top-of-mind and encourage open communication about potential risks.
We conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual training sessions plus A-STAR-specific safety protocols. Experienced crew members participate in advanced certifications and skills refreshers to stay sharp and prepared for the unique challenges of commercial roofing and siding work.
We follow and exceed current Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards. Our training programs are built directly on OSHA guidelines to ensure full compliance and best-in-class safety practices.
We are active partners with the CEA, participating in their safety education programs and adopting industry-leading best practices for commercial construction safety across Northeast Ohio.
We proudly participate in the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Drug Free Safety Program. This commitment helps maintain a drug-free workplace and supports our continuous improvement in safety performance.
